#2

Laundry at College...

Today was quite eventful - well, as eventful as it could be lol! I did my laundry and washed dirty dishes (tupperware to be exact). I'm still waiting for my stuff to finish in the dryer. Funny story: so my university has an app where you can see which washers and dryers are available or in use, and if in use, how much time is left until it's available. Well I picked dryer #9 since it was showing as available and swiped my ID card to access it. However, when I opened it up there was still clothes inside. I almost thought I opened the wrong dryer until I double triple checked - I had this super confused look on my face and walked around the laundry room checking all the washers and dryers to see if maybe there was another #9 dryer (the one I had picked). But nope. So I went back to the #9 dryer with someone's clothes still inside and asked a person nearby about my situation. I was told I could probably just take the clothes out and leave them on the top of the dryer, then go about my business using the dryer. So, I did just that. But it did make me think. I had recently read a post on Reddit about someone asking if it was rude for them to take someone's clothes out of the dryer mid-cycle since the clothes were "relatively dry" anyway, so that they could use the dryer themselves. People told that person that yes, it was rude, since the other person's clothes weren't finished drying. But a lot of people did note that if the clothes were done drying yet was still in the dryer, it's absolutely okay to remove them from the dryer, and that the person who leaves their clothes in there long after the cycle is done are jerks.
I wouldn't go as far as to say the person who left their clothes in the dryer I picked is a jerk, but still, it was not pleasant to open the dryer to use and see someone's clothes still inside. x_x Plus, I was already charged for dryer #9, so it's not like I was gonna try for another dryer (no others were available anyway). I do honestly still feel bad about just leaving their clothes on top of the dryer, though.
There's 30 minutes left 'til my clothes are done drying... 'til next time. :)
